A Michigan man is being praised for helping an older woman safely cross a busy intersection in Garden City. Justin Wutke was recently riding his bike to work at a nearby 7-Eleven and noticed the traffic light changing while the woman was still crossing the street.
Wutke dropped his bike and walked into the roadway to assist the woman until she reached the other side safely. After she thanked him, he picked up his bike and continued on to work, unaware that someone had photographed the moment and shared it on social media.
The image and story quickly spread online, prompting community members to search for Wutke and recognize him for his actions. He later learned about the attention when his mom contacted him and told him the story had gone viral. In addition to the praise, Wutke was gifted a new bike by someone who saw the post.
