Here Are The Most Popular Wikipedia Pages Of The Year

What did the world want to know about most this year? The Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit that runs Wikipedia, is here with answers. Their annual list of the most-visited Wikipedia pages of the year has just come out.

The crowdsourced encyclopedia is the go-to source for millions of people around the world, with English-language Wikipedia viewed more than 76-billion times around the world in 2024 as of October. Their report gives us a snapshot of the topics and trends people are most interested in now.

  • So, what did people read about most on the site this year? A list of deaths in 2024 was the most visited page, with more than 44-million views.
  • U.S. political figures were also popular searches, as were celebrities like Taylor Swift, who lands at number 11 on the list.
  • ChatGPT, which was the top visited page in 2023, falls to number 12 this year.
  • Elon Musk is 17th, President Biden is 19th and Robert F. Kennedy Jr, Trump’s pick to oversee the Department of Health and Human Services, is 24th.
  • Pop culture pages are pretty popular, too, with the movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” coming in eighth and “Dune: Part Two” is 23rd.
  • Sean “Diddy” Combs is number 22 on the list and the page about Liam Payne is 25th.
