There are all kinds of ways to show your patriotism, from voting to hanging up a flag. While a lot of folks claim to love America, some parts of the country express it more than others. Ahead of the most patriotic day of the year, July 4th, a new report reveals the states that show their patriotism the most.
- WalletHub has just released their list of the Most Patriotic States in America.
- They compared each state on 13 key indicators of patriotism, in the categories of Military and Civic Engagement.
- States were rated on everything from the share of adults who voted in the last presidential election to the share of enlisted military population to AmeriCorps volunteers per capita.
- This year, Virginia is the most patriotic state. They have the third-most active-duty military personnel in the country and the second-most veterans.
- Virginia also has a high voter turnout rate, 71.5% of its residents voted in the 2020 presidential election, more than the national average of 67%.
- The least patriotic state is Arkansas, which comes in 50th for civic engagement.
