- They rated 108 entry-level positions on 12 key metrics, including the average starting salary, projected job growth by 2032 and the median tenure with one employer.
- Topping the list as the best first job in 2024 is Engineer 1 (with no specific specialization).
- They have access to more job openings than people in any other career and typically don’t need practical experience to get hired and generally don’t work more than 40 hours a week.
- Engineers also have the 21st highest starting salary of the job studied, at more than $74-thousand.
- On the flip side, the worst entry-level job is Welder 1, followed by Boilermaker 1 and Benefits Administrator 1.
