A few years ago, many of us were working from home during the peak of the pandemic and a lot of workplaces have allowed employees to keep doing it, at least part-time. While some folks love working remotely, it’s not for everyone, and it turns out, how positive or negative the experience is may depend on where they live. And a new report reveals the states with the most ideal conditions for working from home.

  • WalletHub has just released their annual report on the Best States for Working from Home.
  • They rated the 50 states and Washington, D.C. on 12 key metrics in the main areas of Work Environment and Living Environment.
  • They looked at everything from a state’s cyber security to Internet costs to average home square footage and more.
  • This year’s best state for working from home is New Jersey, which is number two for work environment and 13th for living environment.
  • Utah, second overall, is number one for Living Environment, while Washington, D.C., fifth overall, is first for Work Environment.
  • Alaska comes in last, making it the worst state for working from home. It’s dead last for Work Environment and 47th for Living Environment.
