*LIST* THE HOTTEST ZIP CODES IN THE COUNTRY

No matter what you’re looking for when searching for a home, the most important feature is still “location, location, location!” Finding the right place to call home isn’t always easy, especially in this housing market with record-high home prices and rising mortgage rates. But new research shows affordability isn’t the only thing homebuyers are prioritizing this year, shorter commutes are important, too.

Realtor.com’s annual list of America’s Hottest Zip Codes is out for 2023.

  • It’s based on housing market supply and demand, how many times listings in each zip code are viewed and how quickly homes sell.
  • Each of this year’s top 10 markets are located in the Midwest and Northeast and have homes that have an average of 3.6 more views per listing than the rest of the country, plus, they sell one month faster than average.
  • Topping the list for 2023 is Gahanna, Ohio, which is in the Columbus metro area.
  • Homes in this zip code cost around 2.7% less than average for the area and 12.7% below the national median.
  • The median home list price in Gahanna is $351-thousand.
  • While the average home in the U.S. spends about 45 days on the market, the homes in the hottest zip codes only spent 10 to 25 days on the market and saw three times more visitors on Realtor.com.
  • More than half of the top 10 zip codes have median list prices below the national median of $445-thousand, but in one zip code outside of New York City, the median price tag is over $1-million.
