Americans Have Big Worries Over Major Life Decisions

Adulting is hard, especially when you’re faced with making major life decisions. And it turns out, a lot of people have real worries over making the wrong ones. 

A new survey finds:

  • The average American has made four major life decisions they felt were wrong.
  • 31% say that number is low.
  • Of course, some life decisions are tougher than others, with some of the toughest being:
    • Investing (38%)
    • Purchasing a new home (33%)
    • Making a career change (29%)
  • 71% of people wish they had more guidance when it comes to making such life decisions.
  • And when they do seek guidance, people are most likely to go to
    • Friends/family (54%)
    • Internet (40%)
    • Industry professionals (28%)
    • Informational shows (25%)
    • Podcasts (16%)
  • And even if they do enough research, 71% are still worried about making the wrong decision.
  • One major life decision folks have big fears about is money.
  • In fact, 76% of people want to educate themselves more about financial decisions.
  • 70% admit they are intimidated by the idea of investing their money.
  • 21% of people feel they lack knowledge when it comes to investing.
  • As for what’s keeping folks from investing:
    • 50% say they can’t figure it out.
    • 50% simply put it off for a long time.
