Joshua Jackson may have lost his home in the fires that are still burning in Los Angeles, but the actor and his family are safe.

In a statement to Deadline, Jackson shared, "First and most importantly, all the people closest to me affected by the fire are ok. My daughter, my family, my neighbors all made it out safely. Sadly my beautiful home did not survive the fires. But today, I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people I love."

The house that Jackson lost was also his childhood home, located in Topanga Canyon, which he repurchased in 2001. Speaking to Mr. Porter about the home several years ago, he explained, "My father unfortunately was not a good father or a husband and exited the scene, but that house in Topanga was where everything felt simple, so it was a very healing thing for me to do." He added, "The owner [who sold him the house] said, 'I knew it meant a lot to somebody and that they were going to come back for it some day.'"
