U.S. Surgeon General Explains How Vaccine Misinformation Is Costing Lives

Dr. Vivek Murthy, Surgeon General, and co-chair of the COVID-19 advisory board, joins Elvis Duran and the Morning Show Friday, July 30th to talk about misinformation on COVID and the Delta variant as well as exactly what we should doing.

"Every death we're seeing today could have been avoided... It's getting harder to know what's truth and what's not," is how Elvis Duran quoted and introduced Dr. Murthy to our show. This 'misinformation is costing' us 'lives and health.'

"This pandemic has turned our lives upside down. This has been really tough..... I want people to not to forget all the progress we’ve made since vaccines have become available. The vaccines are still remarkably affective in preventing death and hospitalizations."

Now you may be thinking, what about the Delta variant? People who are vaccinated are still getting it. "What we learned about Delta variant in the unusual cases where vaccinated people can get the virus they’re still able to transmit. That’s why the CDC has said to wear masks inside even if you’re vaccinated."

What are the three things you should be doing right now according to Dr. Murthy?

  1. Get vaccinated
  2. If you are wear a mask in indoor spaces outside of your house
  3. Calling your family and friends and asking them if they’ve been vaccinated
