Well, if you had any big dream for what you were going to do with the $2.04 Billion Powerball jackpot, had you won it, they may have been crushed. Story is that a sole winning ticket was sold in Altadena, California. So, unfortunately, if you're reading this anywhere but in Altadena, you didn't win the enormous jackpot. Sorry about that.
Since I'm sure you're curious, the winning ticket was sold at Joe's Service Center, according to the California Lottery Twitter page. Apparently this lucky winner actually matched all 6 of the winning numbers. What are the odds of that happening? 1 in 292.2 million. Yeah, you're right, those are some crazy odds. Almost as crazy as actually winning the Powerball.
With there being a pretty solid chance that you weren't the actual winner of the jackpot, Powerball officials are urging people that bought tickets to still check them since there's a chance you might have won one of the smaller prizes. According to Powerball.com, there were 11.2 million sold that won cash prizes and 22 of those are said to have won $1 Million! The winning numbers were 10, 33, 41, 47 and 56. The Powerball was 10.
If you're someone that bought a ticket, I wish you the best of luck on winning at least a little bit of money. If you're the sole jackpot winner, congrats! Also, if you'd like to give me a cool Million, I'd be okay with that.
