DMX's family released a statement earlier today that we all knew was coming but had hoped it wouldn't happen. The rap legend, DMX, passed away at the age of 50.
News came out last week that DMX was taken to the hospital after suffering a heart attack/overdose. He had remained in the hospital, on life support and in a coma. Although a story came out last weekend that he had been taken off of life support and was breathing on his own, that was not true.
Earl "DMX" Simmons leaves behind 15 children and a fiance.
On a personal note, the music that DMX gave us will always hold a place in my heart. His albums "Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood" and "It's Dark And Hell Is Hot" are still 2 of my favorite albums of all time. He actually released those 2 albums in the same year and both went multi-Platinum. DMX shared all of his personal struggles in his music and he found a way to connect to all of his fans on some level.
The hip hop community lost a legend today. RIP to the "Dog" DMX
**Lyrcis are NSFW** but just watch the way that the crowd reacts to D doing his thing at Woodstock. Not to mention, look at the size of that crowd!
