We spoke with Joy Peck, a registered nurse coordinator, and Kirsten Foster, a registered nurse, from the Smiley Cancer Center at St. Francis Hospital to discuss the upcoming Cancer Survivor's Day celebration on June 7.
The event aims to honor patients, families, and caregivers, celebrating their resilience and strength. The cost of the event is approximately $20,000, with $15,000 already raised. Fundraising efforts include a karaoke night, an ice cream social, T-shirt sales, and upcoming events at Red Robin and Panera. The event is free and open to all patients, who can bring one guest. Donations can be made through the Trinity Health of New England website.
