HuskyTHON Challenges Community to Raise $315,000 on Day of Strength

On February 21, 2024, over 4,000 students at the University of Connecticut will come together to raise $315,000 in only 24 hours for the patients and families at Connecticut Children’s.

On Day of Strength, all HuskyTHON participants are challenged to individually raise a minimum of $137 for the 137,000 patients treated by Connecticut Children’s in 2023. The funds raised on Day of Strength will go directly towards HuskyTHON’s year-long fundraising total, which will be revealed at the end of the 18-hour dance marathon, a culmination of the year-long fundraising effort, on March 2nd.

In 2023, HuskyTHON’s Day of Strength surpassed their fundraising goal of $275,000 in only 24 hours. This achievement contributed to the organization’s 2023 fundraising total of $1,480,255.

This year, HuskyTHON will be celebrating its 25th anniversary. Since 1999, HuskyTHON has raised over $11 million for the patients and families at Connecticut Children’s, making it one of the largest Children’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon fundraisers nationwide.

In 2024, HuskyTHON is pledged using the campaign “Build the Moment” to inspire the UConn community to work together to Build the Moment when there is a world absent of childhood illness. By pledging to raise over $315,000, HuskyTHON continues to demonstrate their dedication and commitment to change kids’ health.

Each donation, no matter the size, pushes HuskyTHON one step closer to the day where kids can just be kids. Online donations can be made by visiting the HuskyTHON website and clicking on the ‘Donate’ button, or by texting “UConn” to 51-555.
