With the rise of athleisure wear, you'd think getting ready for the gym would be easier than ever. As it turns out, this is simply not true. Treadmill reviews surveyed 1,000 Americans that work out weekly to find out what what work out habits are considered "unacceptable" and what "unacceptable" work out habits they participate in. Here's what they found:

  • People who do yoga were voted best dressed of all workout groups.
  • Nearly half of the people said they go to the gym in dirty workout clothes.
  • 57% of people bought workout clothing specifically to hide a part of their body.
  • Gen Z spent more than any other generation on workout clothes.

The most shocking fact? More than one third of people admitted to working out commando! Men were obviously more likely to than women. While there's nothing wrong with going commando - in fact, for women it's actually healthy to do so when you sleep - the idea of going to the gym commando where you're going to get sweaty and most likely wear tight fitting clothes; it's giving yeast infection and a trip to see your gyno.

Ultimately, if you're at the gym in the first place you're taking an amazing step at getting your body and mind healthy which is fantastic! And of course whatever makes you feel comfortable is what you should be wearing. All I'm saying is I'm surprised! I would never think to go commando to they gym, but apparently 30% of gym members do!
