New Haven Restaurant Week begins on Sunday

New Haven, Conn. (March 15, 2022) – The highly anticipated New Haven Restaurant Week returns March 27 – April 9, 2022 with even more dining experiences and exclusive savings at restaurants, eateries and cafes across the Elm City. The popular bi-annual event will celebrate its 14th year by giving visitors and residents an opportunity to reconnect with Connecticut’s most vibrant city while experiencing renowned dining at beloved favorites and new local hot spots.

“We’re thrilled to welcome back diners to New Haven for restaurant week,” said Bruno Baggetta, Director for Market New Haven, Inc. “On the heels of mask mandates lifting, we look forward to patrons experiencing the city’s refueled energy this spring. We’re very proud that after 14 years running, New Haven Restaurant Week continues to be such a strong economic driver for the city.”

Times are changing and New Haven Restaurant Week is too. This spring, New Haven Restaurant Week has evolved to include over 50 dining establishments in neighborhoods across the city. In addition to fine and casual dining staples, restaurant week now includes a variety of cafes, bakeries, and fast casual restaurants. Participating restaurants will offer a range of pre-fixe menus starting at $20 per person, savings of up to 20% off meals, or complimentary add-ons. Also new to restaurant week this year, diners will be able to enjoy offerings for breakfast or brunch, along with lunch and dinner options.

From Pan-Asian favorites and Indian street food to classic French and Italian fare, there’s a little something for every palate in New Haven. With restaurants serving up gastronomic delights from around the world, diners can try the freshest seafood Connecticut has to offer, share traditional Spanish tapas, and of course, grab a slice of the city’s legendary pizza.

“New Haven is open for business. We encourage all to come out, enjoy and support our local businesses and restaurants during restaurant week and beyond,” said Mayor Justin Elicker. “As we welcome people back to New Haven, our focus on safety will be a critical component of the success of our reopening.”

“Diners will get a taste of New Haven’s best at a great value when they join us for restaurant week,” adds Baggetta. “We’re thankful to the City of New Haven, Yale University and Yale New Haven Health System for helping to make this spring’s event possible.”

While they’re in town, visitors have so much to experience beyond the dinner table, whether it’s spending an afternoon exploring museums, galleries or splurging with some retail therapy at one of the city’s many eclectic boutiques downtown. And not to worry - parking is easy year-round, with special deals in parking garages and lots running all throughout restaurant week.

New Haven Restaurant Week is the state of Connecticut’s first-ever organized restaurant week program. Established in 2008, by Market New Haven, Inc., the program was developed as a creative way for residents and visitors to discover the culinary excellence of downtown’s dining scene at discounted prices. Over the past 14 years, New Haven Restaurant Week has evolved while maintaining its commitment to giving visitors and residents the opportunity to experience the very best quality and variety offered by participating restaurants.

Due to the promotion’s appeal and high-demand year-over-year, patrons are strongly encouraged to make reservations in advance and check restaurants’ websites for exact pricing and menus. To view New Haven Restaurant Week participants, visit infonewhaven.com, and follow @INFONewHaven and #NHVEats on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for more information.
