This is some pretty bananaland stuff..
According to USA Today, starting June 8th, Amazon will automatically enroll all eligible Echo devices in it's new Amazon Sidewalk. Sidewalk will pretty much share a small amount of your internet connection with anyone that might need it.
Here's a step-by-step on how to disable the feature:
- Open the Amazon Alexa app
- Open "More" on the bottom
- "Settings"
- "Account Settings"
- "Amazon Sidewalk"
- Disable it
