New study says Connecticut is a top 5 state for nurses and aides

A new study finds Connecticut is the No. 5 best state for nurses and aides when factoring in wages, job opportunities and cost of living. Massachusetts was the No. 1 best state and Oklahoma was the No. 1 worst.

During COVID-19, we owe healthcare workers an even greater debt of gratitude than usual. Which states are offering nurses and personal care aides the best situations in 2021?     

TheSeniorList.com today released a study on the Best and Worst States for Nurses and Aides in 2021 after analyzing data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census Bureau and Zillow Rent Index. The rankings were determined by comparing each state across nine categories and scoring them.

Connecticut was the No. 5 best state scoring 442 out of a possible 612 points. Massachusetts is the best state scoring 494 and Oklahoma is the worst state scoring 153. 

The five best states for nurses and aides are Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, California, and Connecticut.

The five worst states are Oklahoma, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Arkansas.
