Halsey Teases 'Most Personal' Song With Tori Amos Transformation

Halsey's new album, The Great Impersonator, is just a few days away from being released, and the countdown to the new music continues with her latest impersonation: Tori Amos.

In teasing track no. 14, titled "Life of the Spider," Halsey is rocking the same shade of red hair as Tori, and is looking, blue-eyed at the camera, dripping water on their chest.

Halsey wrote of the song and Amos, "I grew up on Tori and have always considered her in a class of her own. This song, the most personal on the album, is just me and my piano. Because that’s all Tori ever needed to rip your heart to shreds."

So far in this Great Impersonator countdown, Halsey has impersonated Dolly Parton, PJ Harvey, Kate Bush, Cher, David Bowie, Evanescence's Amy Lee, The Cranberries' Dolores O'Riordan, Stevie Nicks, Bruce Springsteen, Linda Ronstadt, Britney Spears, Aaliyah, Joni Mitchell, Fiona Apple, and herself (the Bandlands era).

The Great Impersonator, which is set to be released on October 25th, is Halsey's fifth studio album following 2021's If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, and features previously-released tracks like "Lucky," "Lonely Is The Muse" and "Ego." She has said of her new set of songs, "I made this record in the space between life and death. And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it. I’ll wait a bit longer. I’ve waited a decade, already."
