Halsey really is The Great Impersonator. The star's countdown to the album's release date is on, and Halsey's fourth impersonation is channeling the one and only Cher.
In teasing track number four from The Great Impersonator, "Letter To God (1974)," Halsey is inspired by Cher's 1974 hit "Dark Lady." She explained of Cher's influence on her, "Undisputed Queen. One of my favorite Cher songs, Dark Lady, was a number 1 hit in 1974. Still number 1 in my heart today."
In photos shared to Instagram, Halsey can be seen wearing the same spandex blue suit and silver boots that Cher wore in the '70s, long dark hair and all.
Is it Halsey or Cher? These impersonations are getting really good.
Halsey's Cher impersonation comes on the heels of the release of her newest Great Impersonator song "I Never Loved You," and her previous three impersonations — Kate Bush, PJ Harvey and Dolly Parton.
The Great Impersonator is Halsey's fifth studio album following 2021's If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, and features previously-released tracks like "Lucky," "Lonely Is The Muse" and "Ego." She has said of her new set of songs, "I made this record in the space between life and death. And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it. I’ll wait a bit longer. I’ve waited a decade, already."
