Lindsay Lohan's Dad, Michael, Arrested For Allegedly Choking Estranged Wife

Lindsay Lohan’s father, Michael Lohan, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his estranged wife, Kate Major.

Last night (February 10), the 59-year-old was thrown in jail in Southhampton, New York, after being “detained on the street in front of his kids,” Us Weekly confirmed exclusively via a source. According to the police report obtained by the outlet, Michael had supposedly been “combative” with Major, from whom he filed for divorce in September 2018 after four years of marriage.

Michael has “been charged with strangulation and harassment,” the insider told Us. Speaking of the alleged altercation, another insider claimed, “He has been following her, tracking her and then choked her and got arrested for it."

This isn’t the first time Michael and Major — who are legally married still — have had issues concerning domestic violence within their troublesome relationship.

In now-deleted tweets from 2014, the 37-year-old once claimed Michael had threatened her with a knife. Major removed tweets the morning after, stating, “I regretfully tweeted while my emotions were high that I was being threatened by Michael with a knife; this was not the case.”

For Michael, however, last night’s violent altercation was just another in his long history of run-ins with the law. In 2011, he was booked in Tampa, Florida, for allegedly making contact with Major before attempting to evade police by jumping off a balcony after having already been slapped with domestic violence charges.

Unfortunately, scandals such as these have been par for the course for the Lohan family. Michael’s pop star daughter, Lindsay, previously did time behind bars on a probation violation stemming from her 2010 DUI case.
