- It's all fun and games until someone files a lawsuit. A Tennessee man has filed preliminary paperwork for a lawsuit against Popeyes Chicken for being sold out of its new crispy chicken sandwich.
- In a summons filed Thursday in Hamilton County General Sessions Court, East Ridge resident Craig Barr says he's suing the eatery for "false advertising and deceptive business practices by entity to public." He goes on to say, "Countless time wasted driving to and from Popeyes. No chicken sandwich. Was told to come back this day -- still no sandwich." He even claims to have gone as far as to answer an online ad placed by a Popeyes worker who agreed to sell him a chicken sandwich for $24. Barr claims he paid the employee, but received no sandwich. He's asking for $5,000.
- A spokesman for Popeyes says the company doesn't comment on ongoing litigation.
