Shawn Mendes and Teddy Geiger Cover Queen's 'Under Pressure'

With the Bohemian Rhapsody movie release date quickly approaching, a handful of Universal Music Group artists are paying tribute to Freddy Mercury, and on Friday (October 12), frequent collaborators Shawn Mendes and Teddy Geiger shared a cover of Queen's iconic 1981 collaboration with David Bowie, "Under Pressure."

The duo's rendition is a stripped-down, breezy version of the original. Like Mercury and Bowie, Mendes and Geiger's voices complement each other well — the "In My Blood" singer isn't afraid to hit the high notes that Mercury nailed, while Geiger's raspy voice fills in the gaps and beefs up the song.

"I am so honored to be able to support the amazing legacy of Freddie and Queen by doing a cover of one of my favorite songs, ‘Under Pressure,'" Mendes said in a statement. "It was so exciting to me to be able to do this with my close collaborator and one of my best friends, Teddy Geiger, for a cause that is very close to our hearts."

Though the track doesn't appear on the official Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack, a portion of its proceeds will be donated to Mercury Phoenix Trust, which was founded by Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor, along with the group's manager Jim Beach, after Mercury's death to help fight AIDS around the world.

Bohemian Rhapsody hits theaters on November 2nd.
