New research has discovered Connecticut's top five most Googled social media platforms, with YouTube taking the top spot.

Experts at web hosting provider, Hostinger, analyzed the average number of monthly Google searches for each social media platform in Connecticut to determine which ones are the state's favorites.

YouTube has an astonishing 1,833,453 average monthly Google searches. Created in 2005 in California, it is the most searched for social media platform in the entire US. From educational tutorials and documentaries, to entertaining vlogs and music videos, YouTube offers something for everyone. It is user-friendly and accessible across various devices, which has contributed to its widespread appeal. It allows creators to reach millions of viewers, fostering a vibrant online community.

Facebook has 1,551,066 monthly Google searches. Since its creation in 2004, the platform has consistently maintained its popularity, serving as a space for people to connect with friends and family, as well as being a powerful tool for businesses to engage with their audiences. Despite the emergence of new social media platforms throughout the years, Facebook's ability to adapt and introduce new functionalities, such as Marketplace and Facebook Watch, keeps it relevant and deeply integrated into the daily lives of billions of users.

Next is X, with 284,911 monthly Google searches.
