Rolling Stone Magazine's NEW TOP 500 Song List

Rolling Stone” magazine has come out with their list of the 500 Best Songs of All Time, pickingAretha Franklin’s“Respect” as the number one choice.

They write that while Otis Redding wrote and recorded the song in 1965, Aretha “took possession of the song for all time with her definitive cover,” calling it “the single that established her as the Queen of Soul.”

Coming in just behind “Respect” is Public Enemy’s “Fight The Power” at two, and Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come” at three.
