Fashion Designers Sewing Masks to Meet Demands During COVID-19 Shortage

The fashion community is coming together for the common good. After New York City announcing the impending shortage of face masks for the heath care workers and first responders, Project Runway winner Christian Siriano took to twitter with all hands on deck. The designer tweeted New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo saying him and his design team were ready to get to work and help in the fight against COVID-19.

Similarly, Los Angeles based fashion designer Michael Costello, also a Project Runway alum, has been "glued" to his sewing machine, making masks to help supply the current demand. Costello shared a video on his Instagram yesterday showing what the last 24-hours of sewing masks has looked like.

As someone who is invested in fashion and is a HUGE fan of both of these designers, it warms my heart to see the fashion community coming together coast-to-coast in a way like this!
