The surviving members of Nirvana were joined by an all-star cast of rockers at last week's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Lorde, Kim Gordon, and St. Vincent all took the stage Thursday night after Joan Jett kicked off the tribute with "Smells Like Teen Spirit." But that wasn't the only Nirvana performance that evening.
After the ceremony proper, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear made their way to a Brooklyn venue much smaller than the Barclays Center to perform for a couple hundred fans.
Jett, Gordon, and St. Vincent returned for the club show, while J Mascis and Deer Tick's John McCauley were also there to front the band. McCauley tells Rolling Stone he still can't believe he was part of the exclusive gig, explaining that he's been a superfan ever since Nirvana soundtracked his teenage years.
